Have decided to make the 36” bust, with a gauge that is potentially a little tight. I have a 36-38” bust and am 5’6”. Swatched Bare: on 7s, 19.5 st/4in before blocking, after 20st. On 8s, 18st/4in before blocking, after 19st and 13.5rows/2in.

Going to use the mods for a shorter cardigan. 18 rows of MC between stripes. I’m concerned that the colors look like a ’70s gym sock.

3/25: Partway through the second sleeve. The fit seems to be great so far. Good length with the modifications. I don’t like doing the sleeves in the round, especially during the striping.

3/31: Collar is underway. I will probably do less buttons because my cardigan is shorter. I am surprised that I will have to break into all of the yarn that I bought considering that my cardigan is about five(maybe?) inches shorter than the pattern.

4/1: There will be 5 buttons. To accommodate my slightly larger buttons, I did a double yo before the k2tog on the buttonhole. Then just knit into it as one stitch.

4/5: Despite the fact that my swatch condensed during blocking, my sweater got bigger. I am glad that I went with a fair amount of negative ease! It does tend to slide off my shoulders a little bit. But I’ll be able to wear layers underneath. I got the anchor buttons at Mood. I’ll have to double-check the yarn amounts, but I think that is right. I am definitely glad I made the shorter version!
