Notes

Trying to make these for Christina’s birthday on Thursday. Will almost certainly not happen on time.

These definitely took me longer than I expected! I had a few number differences with the pattern, mostly in the heel directions. If you’re comfortable with toe-up heels though it shouldn’t be an issue. And the pattern doesn’t mention to use a second ball of red when starting the intarsia section. It did have a good description of intarsia-in-the-round which I had never done before. But knitter beware, that means you will be purling back half of the time on the foot. This, plus DPNs in size 0 hurt my hands a little bit and made me slow down.

My gauge might have been tighter than 9 st/in (!), so my sock is a bit narrower. My friend has size 10 feet, so maybe a sock with a gusset would have been a better fit. In hindsight I would also knit the cuff longer than 5” to get a longer folded over cuff. But they turned out cute, and I think that she loved them!
