This is a 2014 project to use up some of my sock yarn. I’m going to see how many mitts I can make for gifts and charity. I may find myself adding details to avoid boredom.

2013-12-28: Start first mitt. I’m going to do a mitt at a time, since this can also be a travelling project. Complete cuff and arm.

2013-12-29: Complete hand & hand cuff.

2013-12-31: Started second mitt. From here on, I’ll just talk about starting and ending a mitt.

2014-01-03: Complete Pair 1.

2014-05-14: Complete first mitt of second pair

2014-05-27: Complete Pair 2.

2014-07-13: Complete first mitt, Pair 3.

2014-09-14: Complete Pair 3.

2014-11-08: I’m not going to have enough time to finish more mitts this year, so I’m declaring completion.

Summary

• Pair 1 (M): Sock-ease prints in sour ball. Cast on 56 stitches using US 1.5 (2.5 mm) needles; 36 grams yarn used for approximately 160 yards.

• Pair 2 (M): Abstract Fiber SuperSock in Pacific. Just enough yarn left over from On the Fly for a pair of mitts. I’m going to reduce each mitts arm by about 3 rows to give me some leeway on this one, since yardage is close. 41.4 grams; 158 yards.

• Pair 3 (S): Miss Babs Yummy Superwash 2-ply Sock in ‘Funny Papers’. I have enough left over from Sunday Morning Comics. I’m going to do a pair that fits me better out of this yarn. 44.3 grams.
