I ended up adding 2 increase rounds to this hat and it is too much, so this one isn’t a real success. Chroma also knits to a tighter stitch gauge than Poems.

Journal

2014-01-05: Cast on 72 using German twisted cast on. Knit 12 rounds in 1x1 rib. Place markers every 12 stitches. Complete increase rounds. I now have 108 stitches. Complete 7 3/4” Stockinette. Since this hat has 2 more increase rows than Slouch Again, I will need 4 extra rows in the decrease section, or approximately 1/2”. So, I’m stopping this one earlier.

2014-01-06 Complete decrease rows: (d, k)9, (d)3, k2tog * , 18 stitches remain. Thread tail through loops and pull tight. Weave in ends.

Summary

• my gauge is 21 stitches / 4 “; 26 rows / 4”

Next Time

• do a plain knit round before starting the increases.

• The extra increase round is not necessary, so it won’t stay in the pattern.
