I modified the pattern in a few ways:

• I did 12 rows of rib on the bottom and sleeve, and six on the button band.
• I made it a little bit longer than the pattern called for and ended up with one extra button hole.
• Stripes! Two rows of each colour times what feels like a million. I was going to do black/grey, but I was convinced to do colour, and decided to go green/brown since it’s a fall sweater.
• I added a hood simply by continuing the stitches left after knitting the body for about 8.5 inches and then folding it in half and sewing the hood together across the top.
• The body was knit all in once piece.
