Notes

10/3/09
Did about an inch and a half of ribbing tonight. It’s starting to pick up now that I’m feeling more confidant with the DPNs. That first row is a wretched little thing to get going.

10/4/09
Finished the first cuff. The point where I began to knit in the round does not have a ladder but strangely enough, there are two ever so slight ladders at the other two needle intersections which you can see a bit in the second picture. I’m pulling the yarn tight so hopefully it will not be that noticeable. I have a TON of work to do today for my Sociolinguistics class so this is probably all that will be done.

10/6/09
Have finished about 3 inches of leg part

10/8/09
Finished leg. Beginning heel.
10/9/09
Turned my first heel!!!
10/11/09
Have done about 4” on the foot part. Since I’m making these for my husband I still have about 4” more before I start working the toe. Considering this is my first sock, I think it’s coming out pretty good.
10/14/09
I have about 6.5” from heel to foot. Need 8” before I start toe. I really need to learn how to do two at a time socks after this because just the one is taking me forever.
10/15/09
Almost 8” from heel.
10/17/09
Finished the first sock. The hubby promised to let me take a pic of him modeling it later on. I’m not sure if i wanna make a set because i want to go on to use the pretty sock yarn. We’ll see…
Pics are finally up. He was not happy with the photo session but I promised know one would recognize him.

10/23/09
I’ve officially decided to declare this sock finished. I’ve purchased 47” size 1’s from knit picks and want to get on with making a pair of socks from some of my pretty sock yarn. I’ve decided I do not prefer to use DPNs but am glad that I learned how to at least. I’ve also decided that size 2 needles are a smidge too large because it has left the knitting looking slightly bulky so I’m going to work with smaller needles next time.
