Body: Knitting flat, CO 190, 2” of 2x2 ribbing, St st for total length of 15”.
Sleeves: Knitting flat, CO 42, 3” of 2x2 ribbing (20 rows), increasing to 76, knitting to total length of 19” (15 rows after final increase). Blocking and seaming before joining to body.Place 15sts at seam on waste yarn.
Joining for yoke: K40, slip 15sts onto waste yarn. K61 from sleeve, k80 for back, slip 15sts onto waste yarn, k61 from sleeve #2, k40. 282sts. Knit 2 rows even ending on WS. Mark the beginning and ending stitch of each sleeve.
Yoke decreases: Decrease every 3 rows until there are 37 sleeve stitches (including edge stitches). (RS) Knit to within one stitch of marked stitch. Slip two as if to ktog, k1, psso (2 decreased). Move marker to mark this stitch. (WS) purl to one before marked stitch. slip next two sts kw. With left needle, slip those two sts from right side. p3tog (2 decreased).
Shoulder: Work saddle on 39sts. Slip first st each row, either p2tog or slip knit psso at the end of each row depending on RS or WS. Repeat until there are 8 sts left on front side. Purl across and work saddle on next 39 shoulder sts. There should be 16sts remaining on back and 8sts remaining on each front.
Back: Knit back and forth on remaining back stitches, consuming one stitch from each shoulder until a total of 86 stitches remain on needle.
Neck: two inches of 2x2 ribbing.
Button Band: Picked up 108 sts. 2x2 for 1”. 8 buttonholes.
