20100919- realize i have no hats to wear that are good enough for shul at this time of year.
20100920- try on nice felt hats at various shops in NYC. either they are more than i want to spend (> $25), or look hideous on me, or both. go to LBYS and buy 2 skeins of Vanna’s choice (Tracey chose the colour for me, it’s perfect ♥ her) and because my emergency crochet hook is sleeping in the bottom of my bag a cheap 5mm hook. CO at 14th street F/M subway stop, decide SC for at least the body of the hat (hmm.. should refresh on millinery terminology). Go back to office. Deal with chaos and MTA MNR torture. By time I get off a special combined 6:02 train am almost at salad plate diameter. Guess I should decide what design I’m making. Cloche? Beret? Tam? ???
20100921- crocheted at bedtime instead of reading. After morning commute, think I only need 1-2 more rounds until I start the brim. Thinking cloche-like I prefer that style and that’s the direction I crocheted without thinking.
20100921,pm- do i break into skein 2 to widen the brim???
20100922, 1pm- finished on commute home. only added one round between photo w/brick background & my sukkah. Oddly the thing weighs 94g by my semi-accurate scale, but i broke into skein #2 … not sure what they weighed at start, so I’ll say it’s a 200 yard project.
