Notes

20091201- LOST in either Grand Central or on MetroNorth. I’m quite sad but already planning a better pair.
20090709- 8:30p FINISHED. i even wove in the ends! Took photo by myself of the pair, thank you tripod & timer. E helped & took the photo of the single mitt. Not sure exactly how or where more of these will be making an appearance in the future but these fit perfect. they are tight without being overly so and I love (most) of the braid. (for the record the mis-cross is on the left hand glove which I’ve conveniently hidden in photos). thumb bindoff might be tight but b/c last pair loosened so much i’ll leave as is for a week and then evaluate.
20090709- decided to just do open palm, decreased to get back to 42 to the round. will start ribbing and do 5 rounds. then knit thumbs. then wear. decided against the ribbing. did hem and carried the cable up to the turn. looks scrumptious (now need to sew it down) need to finish thumbs and figure out good bindoff for them. they are distracting me from all my other work. sigh
20090708- divided for thumbs. office is so cold this morning might put the whole thing on stitch holders and wear them as is. anything will help i hope.
20090707- started a thumb gusset. not sure if it’s in the right place or if it’ll work out at all. totally making this up as I go along and doing it on the subway at 6:30a before coffee doesn’t quite seem like the most intelligent thing I’ve ever done. since i’m going two circs i started with a (on the “right” mitt): went through cable and 1 stitch before end of cable (aka at stitch 20 of the round) m1, k1. Mirrored on other mitt & side so it’s a m1, k2, m1 for that first round. then knit 3 rounds plain. we’ll see. we’ll see.
ARG! I screwed up a braid on the left mitt, but after tinking it THREE times decided enough is enough. sniff about ready to divide for the thumb/palm. YAY! need to decide if i’ll do fingers or just mitts. Decisions. Decisions.
20090705- the plan:
CO 42.
1x1 rib until I’m bored (about 9 rounds)
k7 m1* around
mirror the mitts so cable is by pinkie.
k1, p1, k6, p1, k to end of round (mirror on other side: k15, p1, k6, p1, k to end of round)
then do cable braid. perhaps. we’ll see. doing pre-coffee will be a challenge. :)
