Notes

7/5: Blocked! Didn’t stretch hard, just tried to arrange nicely. Threaded a string up and back down the bound off purl stitches so I could use it as a gathering wire. The knit stitches were unfettered and were able to puff up a bit even if needed.

7/3: bound off! Did 5 repeats of the last section. Didn’t have enough yarn to repeat row 1 again so bound off on the wrong side. Will block after I get home from the lake!

6/30: On to the 4th ball. Have made it 4 rows into the third ruffle increase section. My wrists hurt a bunch. Will spend the weekend celebrating and moving, so I hope they heal!

6/29: Finished the second ball of pink. On to the third ball - and in a row or two - the third ruffle increase section!

6/28: have worked my way back to the second ruffle section!

6/24: Dropped some rows down quite a ways to fix a missed stitch in the garter stripe section. Tried 5 times to get the eyelet row to look right but failed, so there goes the one ball of pink ruffle! I want to be happy with the result, and I couldn’t let the error stay, so I’ll be OK with starting the ruffle over. When laddering back up, I should have done the k2tog part one row sooner, then it would have worked great!

6/22: Ended up being able to make 5 extra garter ridges, which resulted in changing Garter Increase Row 1 to k2, yo, k85, kfb, k85, yo, k1, yo, k85, kfb, k85, yo, k2. If anyone else is resizing, this is the row to add the extra stitches needed to result in a multiple of 8 + 3. You can follow the remainder of the pattern as written. I’ve knit all of the first ruffle section and half of the second section. Each row takes about 30 minutes to knit!

6/20: Discovered I started with the wrong color, so I will have to do some math to get things straightened out. And since I have messed things up already, I may as well mess them up worse and try to make this shawl a little larger. I’ll confirm I have enough yarn by weighing it first, but right now my plan is to work an extra 10 ridges of garter stripes! Made it to 46th repeat today.

6/19: Finished the 40th repeat. Only 10 more to go before I do something different. I don’t see how the whole skein of the contrast color is going to be needed. But leftovers = fun!

6/17: Finished 10th repeat (I think) of 50 garter stripe repeats. Pretty mindless knitting, which is great for summer. I love the colors! Instructions at the beginning are kind of overboard, but that’s probably just my shawl knitting experience showing. I’m sure new shawl knitters would love all the pictures!
