Working the back and front in one piece and also, I’m going to work the border in garter stitch rather than crochet :)

This pattern is rather primitive…there is no gauge for the yarn, however I am confident this will work out

My gauge is 17sts and 22rows to 10cms, unstretched

I contacted the designer about the box pleats as I just simply couldn’t get my head around how to work them. She was lovely, provided photos which really helped :o)

17th feb
I’ve contacted the designer again for the tension/gauge of the finished article as this is coming out very short :(

I used an icord edging for the neckline and sleeves

18th February
The finished article is blocking and appears to have grown to a more suitable length. I’ll measure my gauge again when it has dried

I have marked the pattern as a 3 star because although it is a lovely design and extremely simple to make, the designer has left a lot to the knitter’s imagination. I feel this is a shame because the shape is one that will appeal to many knitters. This would be a perfect first time adult garment for a beginner knitter if only the instructions were clearer

Suzy is very approachable, and happily added in some suggestions of mine, such as length, width and photos of the pleat technique. There is still no gauge added though :(

I added a few rows of crochet to the bottom of this top, which used up the rest of the 5th balls of yarn, all but a few yards…

The gauge stayed the same on blocking :)
