This is a great design, very customizable, but unfortunately, for stitch counters like myself, it is very difficult to keep track of my knitting. Unless you’ve never ever need to rip back in your knitting, then this is definitely the pattern for you because the re-placement of markers A & B after rip-backs can be quite frustrating!

I’ve unravel so many times, it’s not even funny!! Needless to say, the placement of my markers must have been off after rip-backs because after I BO on the sleeves, and continue on, the wave pattern was out of sync. Even though my stitch count was correct, and balance on both side, the wave pattern was still out of whack if I continue to follow rest of the pattern! Little voice in my head said, “Rip it all out! Rip it all out!” After beating away that annoying voice in my head, I manage to calm down and work on trying to get the wave back in sync with the rest of it’s body part.

Mods after sleeve divide:

WS:
k3, p all the way to sleeve BO, CO 23,
wrap next st, turn work, p 23,
wrap next st, turn work, p all st including wrapped st,
p all the way to the other sleeve BO, CO 23,
wrap next st, turn work, p 23,
wrap next st, turn work, p all st including wrapped st, k the last 3 st.

the reason I added short-row because I find it difficult to work the wave pattern on a CO st. Therefore I need some rows worked in before commencing the wave

RS:
k3, (yo, k) 3x, (k2tog) 6x, (yo, k) 6x; repeat bold part to the last 18 sts, (k2tog) 6x, (yo, k) 3x, k3 {knit all the wrapped st}

Mods to side border:

total of 45 sc on “post” of knit
(ch 3, sk 1, 3 sc in next, sk 1); repeat to end
sc on post of 3rd st of the uneven border helps eliminate that extra k1

Love the yarn! Withstand all those rip-backs! Soft and good drape. Best of all, machine washable and no blocking needed!

Notes to future self:

• If I were to attempt this bolero again, I would probably try to use a life-line, with knots on the life-line representing where the markers used to be.

• Use safety pins, and pin it on the horizontals of the knit, where markers used to be.

• Jot down the number of stitches between markers A & B, especially around the sleeve area.

• At end of RS, because with the (yo, k1) 3x, the last knit repeat, when next to the last k3, made the border looks wider then the other side.

Try: 1) End RS with K2 instead of K3 OR
2) Omit the last k1 in the (yo, k1) repeats
