12/4/11: I really enjoy the look of this, but the pattern leaves a lot to be desired. I used lauravanveen’s notes for the size of the project. I also re-wrote the pattern out so it would be easier for me to read.

I don’t care for patterns that say things like: Row 2: same as row 1, and so on. I’d prefer they just rewrite the stitches for that row - otherwise I have to constantly refer back to another part of the pattern. In this case, the repeated rows are easily memorized, but I did it anyway. For anyone interested, this is what that looks like:

Cast on 29 stitches
Row 1: (RS) K6 (p1, k3) 5 times, k3
Row 2 (and all even rows): k3, p3 (k1, p3) 5 times, k3
Row 3: K6 (p1, k3) 5 times, k3
Row 5: K6 (p1, k3) 5 times, k3
Row 7: k3 (k3, p1) twice, C7B, (p1, k3) twice, k3
Row 9: K6 (p1, k3) 5 times, k3
Row 11: k6, p1, (C7F, p1) twice, k6
Row 13: K6 (p1, k3) 5 times, k3
Row 15: k3, (C7B, p1) twice, C7B, k3
Row 17: K6 (p1, k3) 5 times, k3
Row 19: k6, p1, (C7F, p1) twice, k6
Row 21: K6 (p1, k3) 5 times, k3
Row 23: k3, (k3, p1) twice, C7B, (p1, k3) twice, k3
Row 25: K6 (p1, k3) 5 times, k3
Row 27: K6 (p1, k3) 5 times, k3
Row 28: k3, p3 (k1, p3) 5 times, k3

Thus far I have completed rows 1-23, row 1 & row 2 (as per lauravanveen’s notes). Next I will pick up with row 7.

12/6/11: The pattern says to mattress stitch the sides together but I couldn’t figure it out so I just bound off the final row and seamed the two sides. Hoping this is large enough to fit!
