Notes

My very first knitting project! I would highly recommend this for a beginning knitter—I learned as I went with this, making a few (but not too many!) mistakes along the way. The pattern is easy (just knit, purl, and SSK), and the hat is knitted flat, then sewn up along the edge and cinched at the top.

Despite my haphazard seam and the few rows where I accidentally flipped the pattern to the wrong side, this came out nicely (i.e., this is a very forgiving hat pattern).

Note: the amount of yarn I used is a guess, as I didn’t weigh it or anything (do people do that?). I think I used somewhere between half and three quarters of the skein, but the only way to know for sure is to knit another hat and see how much is left over, if anything. Which, come to think of it, I just might do.
