Notes

A Christmas knit! Started on December 23 and finished in just four days of social knitting and late night knitting marathons.

Daybreak is a well written pattern and I had no difficulty following the instructions as written.

To ensure that the edges of the shawl were not too tight I started each row with a yarn over and dropped the yarn over at the end of each row.

I made the L size shawl and it is BIG - it measures 76 inches along the top edge and is 27 inches wide. Love!

The yarn … the magic of this shawl and it’s rainbow of color is all in the yarn. I used Kauni (EQ) Effektgarn - a long striping yarn - and truly the colors are amazing. I did find that this yarn is a little scratchy (to the point where I contemplated putting a band-aid on my tension finger), sticky (difficult to frog), and my skein had 1 break although it didn’t interrupt the flow of the colors.

After blocking the knitted fabric of this shawl is light and has a lovely drape (although the Kauni is still a little prickly).

Let’s bring on Winter!
