4/11/10 update: the end is in sight! all that’s left is the edging and belt. now that i’ve gotten this far, i can say with certainty that i am REALLY glad i added about 1 1/2 inches in length.

3/15/10 update: so, i’m still trudging along, slowly but surely (but obviously well beyond my olympic closing deadline).

i have wrapped up every knitter i know in trying to decipher some funky wording in this pattern. this is my first not hat/scarf/purse project, so i expected it to be a bit above my head. still, much more experienced knitters have given up on trying to help, another called the pattern “lazy.” i don’t have much to compare it to, but know it has been frustrating.

i still don’t know that this will work out in the end, but all that said, i am happy with how it looks so far.

2/12/10: my olympic knit! as well as my first cabled project. not sure i can finish by the closing ceremonies.
