I made this for my final project for a child development class I’m taking at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, CA. Here are the rules:
“You must create…an activity appropriate for toddler aged children, 1 – 2 years of age. Based on all you have learned about toddler Perceptual, Physical, Cognitive and Language Development, MAKE UP AND CREATE AN ACTIVITY OR TOY based on how toddlers learn through these four learning domains – it must be a home made activity not store bought. HAVE A TODDLER DO YOUR ACTIVITY OR PLAY WITH YOUR TOY.”
It was stated that we didn’t have to create the pattern-- could use something from a book. I chose Tuck because he creates an open-ended activity-- there’s no “right way” to play with a plushie turtle, and because he’s kind of a puzzle, too. I plan on poking his little head and appendages into his shell before giving him to the toddler, and seeing how long it takes him to discover that there’s a turtle in there!
