Notes

28/8/11 - done, love it! If I ever knit a cardigan out of sock yarn again, I’d add some more length to the back and maybe make the sleeves a bit roomier… Otherwise it’s perfect!

26/8/11 - finally finished the last sleeve. Did 103 rounds from picking up the stitches until the bind off. Blocking tonight, hope it’s dry enough tomorrow to weave in ends and wear it to my book club meeting :)

21/8/11 - finished the first sleeve, didn’t do any decreases as the sleeve is tight. I’ll be aggressively blocking this sweater for sure!

11/8/11 - still knitting the body and so close to starting the sleeves, the push is on to get this done so I can start the Abigail Cardi.

Later: Casting off now, got the body length to where I want it. I’m using the decrease bind off which seems to be working out just fine.

Even Later: Cast off was great and now onto sleeve one.

So when I was picking up all my sleeve stitches (on 3.75mm dpns) I had the devil of a time actually transferring them from the waste yarn onto the needles. So I double checked my needle size on the sweater body and lo and behold, I was using a 3.25mm addi turbo circ… surprising what a difference a few needle sizes can make!

So I’m off to dig threw the mess that is my dpn stash and armed with my trusty needle sizer (thank heavens for those things!) I’ll hopefully find 5-3.25mms…

31/7/11 - decided to do only 3 sets of decreases for the waist shaping… I don’t need think I’ll all 5 sets as this is already pretty small… lots more knitting to do to get the length I want… I’m already making plans for another though, maybe something stripey…

29/6/11 - not much movement on this in the last week. I’ve been finishing up the ripple blanket instead. I do have almost 3 inches and so will start the waist shaping soon.

I’m taking this with me on holidays this weekend. I hope to get most of it finished!

24/6/11 - seperated sleeves last night and got about an inch done.

21/6/11 - tried it on last night and I’m pretty excited. I’m still working on the shoulder increases but I’m almost ready to seperate the sleeves.

18/6/11 - got the first few inches done in the car today and finished the neck shaping. I have started the shoulder shaping too… Black yarn… what was I thinking?!

17/6/11 - swatched and I am definitely knitting the smallest size. I think it’ll be too big otherwise.

I’ll be adding length to the bottom because the cropped look isn’t me and I want long sleeves.

Ideally this will be a summer evening sweater and I hate getting cold! Can’t wait to have a little black sweater to wear!

16/6/11 - wound one skein last night and had 2 knots. Sucks! Hope to swatch tomorrow :)

15/6/11 - bought this today, have 3 skeins of black Malabrigo sock yarn and I think this will look awesome plus be a nice light warm addition to my closet.

Can’t wait to get started!
