31/12/11 - I love it! The buttons are awesome and the fit is great!
I talked the Superstar into going outside with me to take some pictures but the wind is howling today and it’s cold! I’ll try for some better ones on a warmer day.
Anyway I barely touched the 5th ball of yarn, only a few yards.
MOD: I sewed a 15cm piece of ribbing to the shoulder on the right side and sewed 3 buttons onto it. Everything is seamed together and there are no button holes. I’ll never wear this as a turtleneck.
Things I’d do differently: definitely waist shaping, not much but some would do wonders and I’d make the ribbing at the bottom at least twice as long maybe 3 or even 4 inches.
30/12/11 - collar done, 4th ball done, onto the sleeves…
29/12/11 - I’m determined to finish the collar today! There, now it’s not a wish, it’s a goal!
27/12/11 - front and back are done. Picked up and am knitting collar…
MODS: I did a 3 needle bind off for both the shoulders. I also knit the front shoulders to 18cms and the back to 20cms. The arms are not too tight nor too loose but the true test will be when I pick up and do the ribbing.
I didn’t do any decreasing for the waist and oddly enough I think it’s fine. I’m certainly not ripping back now!
I need to pick up 2.5mm circs to finish the collar and sleeves. I’m shocked that I don’t have any circs in that size! I thought I had every size and then some… So off to the city today to pick some up :)
26/12/11 - front is done, onto the back…
24/12/11 - separating for the front and back now. Onto the 3rd ball. I did knit 15.5 inches. I hope it’ll just fly off the needles now.
20/12/11 - got another few inches finished…
17/12/11 - slowly plugging away on this. Lots of little stitches…
24/11/11 - started 2nd ball.
11/11/11 - did 3cms of ribbing. Now on to stockinette
10/11/11 - will swatch with 2.25mm and then cast this on tonight because I’m tired of waiting! I need something to light the knitting fire right now. I’m feeling passionless…
I have the yarn and the perfect buttons thanks to Andrea! Yay!
