Notes

I’m really impressed with this design, it’s well thought out. The increases for the thumb gusset and palm is very clever and neat. The garter stitch palm is a perfect design because it squishes down to be both cozy against the palm and ends up lower than the back of the hand so that you have full range of movement for your fingers without compromising warmth.

The only critique I have for the pattern itself is that the instructions for the right hand makes the left, and the instructions for the left hand makes the right - but both hands get made, so oh well. :)

The only modifications I made was to lengthen it nearly to the elbow, and to stop the garter palm at 18 stitches instead of 23 because I didn’t want it wrapping around to the back of the hand. I did one more decrease after that to maintain the twisted rib pattern.
