my first lace project!!

i’ve been wanting to make “gail aka nightsongs” for ages and have also been looking for my dream afghan pattern, and think this may be it!

cast on 25 april and knit three rows. i figure since i have 9 balls of the yarn, i can use 4 for each side, and just knit till i run out of yarn, and keep ball #9 for the edge charts

30 april - had to rip back a couple of rows (made the mistake of starting without stitchmarkers! foolish!) but now it’s going along pretty well, i’m half-way through the chart and it is lots of fun to see the pattern emerge!

26 may - finally blocked. it’s 42” x 72”

July 2017 - just frogged this! Getting a new sofa, gonna knit me a new afghan. Also it wasn’t really 42” wide - I guess I blocked it out that wide at one point but it didn’t stay that wide!
