Notes

I was afraid I was going to run out of yarn, plus I didn’t want the scarf to hang too low, so mine is a little shorter. The ends are 18” and the i-cord around the neck is 7”. In retrospect, I probably would have had enough yarn to make it in the dimensions given.

When making the main body of the scarf, if you do some straight rows after making the decreases for the right cravat tie, remember to make the same number of straight rows before starting increases for the left cravat tie. The pattern doesn’t remind you to do this, but if you don’t, you’ll get asymmetric ties (of course, you might prefer it that way).

I used a circular needle because I don’t have dpns, and the 10-stitch i-cord looked very messy, with a long wobbly tail between the last stitch of a row and the first stitch of the next. I ended up converting that section to double knitting instead and got a much neater result.
