Notes

Made as a sample for the BWC shows. 28 inches across, 56 inches in diameter.

This pattern has one of the best features I love: no blocking required. (It is also one of the reasons why I love the Clapotis shawl.)

I had calculated that with the 200 stitch count, I would have enough to knit 24 repeats of the 2-row pattern along with the cast on, 2 knitted rows, and bind off. I accidentally knitted 25 repeats so ended up using the frugal crochet bind off so I did not have to frog any rows.

When I make this again, I would do the following changes:

  1. Cast on 180 stitches instead of 200 because doubling the cowl still hung a bit too long for me.
  2. Adjust the 180 stitch cast on for 12 YO/SKP and 11 beads per 2-row repeat.
  3. Splurge on mirrored beads. I had to use these $1 beads from AC Moore and though they look pretty, I think a little bit of bling would be a great “wow” factor.
