Provisionally cast on 42 stitches (3 edge + 36 pattern + 3 edge).
Begin Long Leaf Lace pattern with row 2.
Work 13 repeats of stitch pattern with a 3 stitch garter edge on both sides, ending with a row 24.
Put provisional cast-on stitches back on needle and graft them to last knit row.

I basically knit as many repeats of the stitch pattern as I could with one skein of yarn and then stopped.
