Notes
  1. August 6, 2013 … Made a bit of a fool of myself with a note to Sachiko but of course there was no mistake …
  2. An edit that I took into my own hands and documented in the first post …
  3. I usually don’t post projects in progress and the mental notes that I make …
  4. Have chosen to do so this time so I can feel better … ha ha … just because …
  5. At the end of the purl row/WS purl the last stitch through the back loop … slip as if to purl on the right side with yarn in back … mirrors the pretty I-cord edge on the other side …
  6. I think I am going to give a binding off with I-cord a try … should make it all around perfect then!
  7. Decided it will be 70 diamonds for a 70th birthday present! How easy is that … 7 of the 14 repeats done!
  8. Just realized that I have to back out … for five repeats along the side … chart A once … then chart B five times … then on to chart C … back on track … onward and upward tomorrow …
  9. August 7, 2013 … New photo today … more progress made … love that color … but is there a bad color of madelinetosh??!!!
  10. Two of twelve repeats on the inner edge … makes for 16% of the repeats completed … though the rows get longer and the repeats will grow more slowly.
  11. August 14, 2013 … back from the road trip to Portland, Maine, a bit too much talking and having to back out rows … but all in all diamond glory indeed! The shawl is blocked … needs a little attention from the steam iron and there’s enough yarn left for a second one … perhaps even 75 diamonds!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE all the way!
  12. I can’t say enough how absolutely stunning this lace pattern turned out with those twisted stitches running along the yarn-overs … as if it had been embossed into the air!
  13. I also bound it off with a three stitch i-cord along the top edge … love how that finished it off and would definitely build that sort of edge into something else!
  14. Must take final measurements and a little coaxing this way and that … I’m not quite the pin it all out blocking kind of girl! A little attention from the steam iron will help there.
  15. The birthday girl is away … in Maine … of all coincidental places … and the weather hasn’t quite turned yet … will report back on the comments upon receipt!
  16. Thank you Sachiko for such a lovely pattern!
  17. August 15, 2013 … a few more notes … blocked and close-ups.
  18. Josephine wears it well!
  19. The i-cord start and finish … such a perfect edging! Three stitch i-cord … on the RS k1, p1, k1 out of the first stitch and then do a SSK to attach it i-cord style! SSSK to fasten off at the end!
  20. Encore required … the Fibre Company Meadow is in the house!
