Notes

I’ve been mulling parts of this idea for about a year. I’ve been wanting to try color-stacked fringe (see fashion magazine photo). I also wanted to try varying the amount of the complete color sequence used in a given row, as a visual aid in my color stacking classes.
Once I started crocheting it on 2/17, it took off!

I’m enjoying the high twist of this yarn for crocheting, the fun colors, and the nice merino quality. It relaxes into a looser gauge (F hook size) nicely.

I had the forethought to count the rounds of the hank before winding (to get the total number of color sequence repeats for predicting final project size): 203.

Currently deciding whether to keep project at this width, in which case it would be a neckwarmer/short scarf, about 34” long; or go one block wider for more of a collar, probably 20-23” long.

I’d like it wider if I braid the “feathers” (see photo).
