CRAP!!! I just turned the heel and the sock is ENTIRELY too big. I mean, huge! If I ever make his sock again, I would need to complete only 7 repeats

Scratch the above. Knowing that I like the sock (and the yarn feels great), I ripped all the way back to the 7th repeat and am making the gusset increases again. I think I’m doing this to avoid getting on the road to GA tonight…

One sock complete and I probably should have only used 6 repeats. It has a roomy feeling that I hope will go away after a few washings. Fits perfectly though (I think I’m used to tight, commercially made socks). Love the sock though.
