Notes

7/12/09--She’s all done and just light and lovely. Exactly what I envisioned.

Finally, the squares are sewn together. Will start the shell border tomorrow.

The squares are done! Now, it’s time for the border. I would poke out my eyes if I had to do the borders and sewing with the Noro, so I’m using Koigu for that. I feel that the color is very pleasing and ties in with everything together,

I was inspired to make this afghan after I saw an ad for this blanket in Interweave Crochet.

I had been bad mouthing the Kureyon sock yarn because it tangles and breaks easily, but the call of the beautiful colors cannot be denied, and although I’ve crocheted granny squares since girlhood, I decided that once big granny would be boring, so I decided on nine.

Oh, and my LYS had a killer sale on the Kureyon.

Once they are all done, I will crochet a border around each square with some blue Koigu, sew them together (no way I’ll sew with the Noro) and put a shell stitch border around the whole thing.

Each square is 18”, so it will make a nice throw.

So far, I’m loving it.
