2 nov: put this on waste yarn and tried it on. Still a little concerned about fit but it is a jacket really so I think I am ok if it is a little big.
4 oct: middle of row when the yarn ran out on the body, not sure if I want to join and knit the next full ball or just move to the sleeves (I’m leaning towards sleeves). I have been thinking about echoing the yoke at the sleeve cuff (sideways garter) though I don’t really want to do a graft there. I need to do some math for the body shaping -- I want to do some interesting military style seams.
28 sep: split the sleeves and body last night. I may knit the sleeves once I’m done with the current ball of yarn on the body to try to avoid sleeve island. I am a little concerned about sizing -- my gauge is off, so it is running big.
27 sep: worked short rows at the bust. Also checked my gauge, which is running bigger than pattern gauge, so this might fit a little larger than I planned. I’ll see how it looks when I split body from sleeves. Going to work some waist/hip darts as well. One purl row, then the last yoke increase row and it’ll be time to split sleeves and body.
26 sep: worked the short rows at the back, now onto the rest. Just joined the second ball of yarn.
25 sep: finished the yoke piece, picked up and knit along the edge. I am working i-cord along the two cardigan fronts instead of the edging specified in the pattern and I am not working the buttonhole because I’m putting a zipper on it -- I will probably add a toggle & a buttonloop instead.
24 sep: stillllll on the yoke! slow knitting for me :)
22 sep: still working on the yoke piece. the Tahki looks good. It’s a little rough, so I am glad this will be a jacket-style piece. Definitely with a zipper and perhaps a toggle at the top.
20 sep: starting the yoke piece as a swatch to see how the Tahki looks.
queue: I love these pockets. I am thinking about this with a zipper all the way down or toggles, perhaps in tahki donegal tweed. will also add waist shaping.
