Rated this a medium due to the bobbles, which were frustrating to do, and the lace edging. I love the look of the bobbles, but they really slowed me down and I had to attempt each one several times before I was able to complete it. The bobbles took about 3.5 hours to do by themselves.
If I did this again, I’d use fsc even though the designer specifically says not to. My chain really stretched out, which looks awful. The fsc would leave a solid line, true, but I think it would look better than a stretched out chain.
I left off the last round of the edging because it would require playing a game of yarn chicken, and I fear I would have lost.
I’m unhappy with how skinny this is - it only came out 16” for me, despite using heavier yarn and a larger hook. The missing round probably would have added an inch or two, but still not enough to my liking. As it is, this is more of a stole than a shawl. I’m still going to give it to the shawl ministry, but if I make this again it’ll be with more yarn to my disposal so I can make this wider. The shawl ministry likes shawls to be at least 26” wide.
Because of the width and the stretched out chain, I rated this at only the medium level of happiness. It’s a pretty pattern, but the result was not what I wanted.
