Follow the written instructions, not the chart. The chart is technically not incorrect, but it doesn’t tell you whether to cable in front or back (at least, not that I can figure out). So I started off with cabling everything in front, which is wrong. Once I realized this and went to the written instructions, everything was fine.

I used a G hook, but did not get gauge. Didn’t think to check my gauge until well into the blanket, so I just trucked on. As a result, my blanket turned out smaller. I did two extra repeats of the pattern to compensate.
