3 dec - used this cast-on - not so difficult. am using dpns bc circ is in knitted veil. must finish that first!
7 dec - knit a few rows
8 dec - a few more. am 1/4 of the way through the centre section, so 1/12 of the whole.
12 dec - oops, can’t stop knitting this; 10 rows of chart A to go; finished chart A except for final knit row.
15 dec - 2 rows of chart b to go.
16 dec - chart b done; all the pattern rows of C done, just 4 rows garter st to go.
17 dec - middle done and cast off on two sides. weighs 62 grams.
27 dec - chart D row 10 did pfb as increases into the k sts (not into the yos) of the previous row.
13 jan - finished first rpt of chart e. slow going, not finding it v intuitive at this point.
7 feb - finished second rpt of chart E.
7 may - finished rpt 5 of chart e; also half of rpt 6. in 27 rows i calculate that i’ll be half-way through
8 may - finished rpt 6 of chart e. think i may need to take a break. too much of this at once is mind-numbing. it’s complex enough that if i leave it for a week or three then i feel as though i am coming back to something brand new.
2 jun - half-way through rpt 7 of chart e
3 jun - rpt 7 of chart e done
13 sep - rpt 8 of chart e done

6 may 2012 - halfway through rpt 3 of other side. So 7 rpts to go, 140 rows, 10 mins knitting per row. that’s 1400 mins of knitting to go. 23 hours and 20 mins.
27 dec 12 - finished rpt 5 on second side.
31 mar 13 - working on rpt 6
14 may - at it again. have three days off this week and am aiming for a rpt a day. Managed to complete rpt 6 and then all of rpt 7 - woohoo!!
20 jul - away for bendigo sheep and wool show! Doing some knitting. 2 rpts to go.
21 jul - rpt 8 finished as train pulled in to malmsbury.
24 jul - yikes, rpt 9 complete!!
26 jul - FINISHED!! Chart e at least, all 9.5 rpts. I am such a sucker for punishment! Wow, I’m proud of myself for sticking that one through.
2 aug - started on chart f. 4 rows done on way to work, 13 to go!!
3 aug 13 - oh my goodness, finished.
3 oct - blocked!! still have to weave in the blasted ends.
