my gauge(18sts x 26rows = 10cm sq.) is slightly off from the one suggested in the instructions.
I chose one smaller size intentionally to obtain snug fit. It worked OK, but probably I’d add about 10cm in length to the sleeves and 5-10cm to the bodice next time. I may also loosely bind off the neckline than I did to this project, to give some extra ease. Width of body and sleeves were great to my shape with some alterations. I should definitely be more cautious about fulling(washing with detergent, my yarn needed it after being a garment) next time, this time I had a heavier fulling than I should, and the pullover got felted more than I wished.
alterations
- I knit both body and sleeves in round using circular needles.
- All 2x2 ribs were knitted with being held with elastic clear thread.
- Body and sleeves were casted on with wasted yarns. 2x2 rib in hem band and sleeve cuffs were started after all other knitting were throughly finished.
- Some waist shaping was added. (every 4th rows - 2sts at each side - 6times decreasing and then 4 times increasing with the same amount and interval, followed by every 2nd rows - 2sts at each side - 2 times increasing, last increasing row was 3rd last row before the armhole starting)
- Finished sleeves are generally narrower but the number of the stitches at armpit are the same as instructions. (cast on 48sts, 2sts inc. at start and end of the row at 3rd, 8th rows, followed by 55th-90th every 4th rows. 94th row was the last row before raglan shaping)
- Neck band is 18cm high.
