Saw this in Drillis’ projects » and really liked the look! So I will give it a try. Will use thinner yarn (and thus, a thinner hook as well) as I think grocery bags from dishcloth cotton tend to be a bit too heavy - we will see how this goes…

Finished 1st grey ball after 14 corner stitch repeats.
Will now use the pink ball and see how far it gets me - we will see if I need more than 2 colours for this.

Will do 24 corner clusters before starting the handles.
Ran out of the second pink ball at the beginning of the second handle row, hope the remaining grey ball will be enough for the handle!

Finished! I did two rows of single crochets on the chain for the handles and really quite like it. It seems to be quite sturdy without being too heavy- we will see how it behaves when used.

Nevertheless, I will probably try a knitted version next.
