Notes

February 1, 2020

20 stitches = 12 cm in Moss stitch
17 stitches per 10 cm
5% More More thanR given in pattern
Will Start with Front

CO 30+ 75=105 stitches
Plan to decrease to 90 stitches

February 2, 2020

Started neck decreases app. 28 cm after cast on.
Plan to decrease for neck until 76 stitches are left.

Started blending in the red yarn when starting the decreases. I.e. I knit 2 rows with red, alternating with 2 rows of blue.

Do work the front panel in one piece, so after decreasing I start knitting the WS rows to 2 stitches before the end, then do a yarnover, k1 , sl1wyif
Then for the RS rows K2, k1tbl, continue in moss stitch.

Plan to do the increases back to 90 stitches again, but I think I will run out of the red yarn before finishing the increases.

February 5, 2020

Finished straight part of front, will start to increase back again to 105 stitches for the sides.

February g, 2020

Finished the back, did 2 rows of stockinette as a turning edge, casted off 30 stitches in 1 row and on back again in the next for the armhole.

Did 30 rows with the blueish-grey and then joined the light grey with the coloured tweed bits for the mittle part.

February 14, 2020

Finished the light grey ball in the back at 61 cm
which means I will have to knit 14 additional centimetres in the grey-blue yarn to finish the back.

February 16, 2020

Knitted the shoulders, messed up the first shoulder somehow,… I do not seem to have catched all the live stitches so I kind of sewed close the holes…

Nevertheless like the idea of the red shoulders, using leftover Wollmeise and Aldi sockyarn held doubled.

February 17, 2020

Picked up 62 stitches for the right sleeve, started in seed stitch straight without decreases so far.

February 18, 2020

Did the first 20 rows without decreases, then decreased to 52 stitches every 10 rows or so.

Did one row of stockinette in which I decreased to 48 stitches and will now do a long 2 by 2 ribbed cuff.

February 19, 2020

Finished 1st sleeve, added 4 rows of contrasting stripes in red.

Picked up for second sleeve immediately, only got 56 stitches, so I will work a longer straight part before starting the decreases.

February 20, 2020

Started ribbing after 24 purl bumps of seed stitch, will have to do 37 rows of ribbing before starting the contrasting stripes.

February 21, 2020

Finished knitting sleeves, now I will do an ICord around the bottom edging, no brioche as it is long enough as it is.

I am considering adding a facing in the neckline as it is a bit deep for my taste,,,

February 22, 2020

Finished! Added a facing in grey and red in the neckline and finished it off with an I cord..

Tried it on today- it is really oversized, if I made it again, I would probably make it way less wide, maybe with max. 10 cm of positive ease and also shorter, so I can add the brioche - but nevertheless like it and this is a way better use for my sportweight sockyarn than sitting in my yarn stash!

Pattern itself is great, I think I will definitely make more, maybe even starting at the sleeves like originally given in the pattern.
