Yeah, success! It shrinked to app. 8 inches width, 10 inches length - perfect! Looks good to me! Still hope for better weather to be able to take some daylight photos!

Put it into the washer at 40 degrees in the short circle, put it into a pillow case and included a pair of jeans. Chose the max. tumbling program (1400 whatever the scale maybe) - hope it will shrink accordingly…

Dec 21st: Finished Knitting. It is 14 inches long pre-felting, plus 4 inches for the flap, and 10 inches wide.

In addition, I was inspired by the Kiki Marimeko Pattern - they also use a Zigzag-Pattern and it is felted afterwards. Well, this is of course not a rug, but I liked the Zigzag Pattern and wanted to practice my Fair Isle skills.

However, if I did this again, I would use wider pattern repeats - the 1-stitch alternation close to the flap is nearly not visible after felting. Only loosely based on the Free Kindling Pattern- she also uses Fair Isle as it makes a thicker fabric for good protection.

Started at the bottom, casted on 50 stitches with a figure-8-cast on, which I doubled in the second row to 100 stitches.

Quite like my colour combination and hope it will shrink accordingly in the washing to 5 inches wide, 7 inches high….
