Notes

Okay, enough of musings - this sneeked up on me and I finally surrendered, bought the pattern and casted on. I even did a tiny swatch which was spot on.

Mine is project no. 6001 as I cast this on in July 2020.

July 19, 2020

Goes way better than I thought so far. I am using my Addi Click needles » and the yarn slips over the joint really well.

Casted on 60 stitches, using my normal cast on which is also kind of a sling on, but without the twist. Goes over my big head ok so far.

Knitted the firste 3 rows open, so that I would not twist the cast on which worked out alright so far.

July 20, 2020

First colour change was one row before I started the little lace flowers. I got quite far on the first day, up to after the third “inbetween loop” increases. Really like it so far, though I am considering to switch to smaller needles after separating for the sleeves to make it a little less see-through

July 21, 2020

Started the raglan increases yesterday and switched to 5 mm needles before doing so. Will maybe do 6 instead of 5 increases and cast on a few more stitches on the underarm.

July 21, 2020

Seperated sleeves Casting on 8 stitches in each Unterarm.
Second dolor Change after Last Partnern
3d color Change after sleeves separation

July 24, 2020

Reached 42 cm total body length about 2 cm into the 6th color, will start ribbing now.

I do not want a totally cropped version, but as I espect this to grow quite a bit due to the loose gauge, I will not do more than 48-50 cm total length before finishing the body.

I think I will use the plain white bobbel I have for the sleeves which I plan to make about 3/4 at the moment.

July 27, 2020

Still working on the ribbing, lost a bit of my knitting mojo and did not do a lot during the weekend.

July 27, 2020

Finished body

Picked up 59 stitches for the sleeves

July 29, 2020

Knit sleeve straight down, then decreased 5 stitches before starting 10 rows of ktbl, p. Will use a single crochet bind off again.

July 31, 2020

Ready! Pre-washing, it is just 43 cm long but it fits just fine. I wonder if it will grow after being washed…

And I wonder how long it will take to dry today - it is around 35 degrees celsius and I left it out on the garden table to dry - I guess it will be less than an hour…

Really like it and I think it will be great to wear this breezy cotton thingie in the summer heat.

August 1, 2020

Tried it on and quite like it - It grew to 47 cm after washing.

My only complaint is that I should have done the arm separation a little earlier, the yoke is a little too deep for my taste. But in total, I quite like it and can see more in my future - one from wooly yarn, for winter, maybe?
