Finished first sock. Ended up using my “normal” german short rows double stitch instead of that described in the pattern.
Will probably also use my normal heel (narrower, more heart shaped) with the next pair.
Also did my standard toe which decreases every other row until you have half of the stitches left, then decrease in every row and close the remaining 8 stitches in kitchener stitch.
