Decided I want to do an increased heel “Zunahmeferse”, though I am doing a toe up sock,
using this video tutorial »

OK, the self-striping yarn does “eat” the pattern, but I wanted to mainly use it for couting purposes anyway.
Only did a stripe as follows:

k1tbl, p2, 12 stitches pattern repeat, p2, k1tbl

8 rows of pattern repeat give me app. 2 cm in length
toe length before starting pattern 4 cm
i.e. I will start the gusset increases after app. 5 pattern repeats.

Finished first sock, did 4 full pattern repeats after the heel turn and 12 rows of ribbing.

Although I knit 14 cm before starting the gusset increases, this is a little on the short side, so this heel is a little shorter obviously than the simply toe up - or it may be because I used thinner needles…

Pattern is totally eaten by the yarn, but will nevertheless do the second sock to match.

Finished! Used nearly exactly 1 ball of yarn, the little bit you can see in the photos is all I have left.

Heel fits me quite well, but I have a fairly high arch. Sizing is on the tight size - 56 stitches with 2.25 mm needles might be too tight…
