Notes

Green hat = Sockyarn held double

Alternate cable cast-on.
Brim = 12 rows.
Rib = Ktbl and Russian purl for a neater ribbing.
Crown shaping: stopped when I ran out of yarn and pulled everything together for a gathered look. I think it works!

The original pattern is for a fourcornered crown shaping and is rather pointy. This does not work for the gathered look. So I undid the crown and reknit with more evenly spaced decreases, which results in a flatter crown. Finished February 27th

Cast-on for a second version, because I do want to find out if Iike the original crown shaping.
Second hat will feature more pastel colors for a whimsical look.
I did the fourcornered centrale double decrecrease on this one, but I am not a fan. And reminder to self: never ever use wool-silk blend again for the ribbing of a hat. It grew beyond belief. I will have to find somebody with a large head for this one.
