Horn (in Space Rocks):
4, 6, 8, 10, (at this point stop stacking increases) 12, 14, 14, 16, 16, 18, 18, 20, 20, 3 slip stitch to smooth the round
Ears (in Heliotrope Pigtail):
6, 12, 12, 12, 15, 18, 18, 18, 21, 24, 24, 24, 24, 24, 24, 24, 24, 24, 21, 18, fold in half, SC closed
Fore Legs (in Le Pink and Heliotrope):
As Plushy Bear, doubled, changed to Heliotrope after 10th round completed, BLO 11th round. Finished off Pigtail after almost exactly 35th round. Worked both legs at the same time to spread colors more evenly. Worked a round of SC into the unused loops of the 10th round a la Softy Unicorn.
Hind Legs (in Le Pink and Heliotrope):
Decided to work toe up, so the hoof edge is consistent on the front and back legs. Worked as Plushy Bear, doubled, with 1 extra row. Changed to Heliotrope after 10th round, 11th round in BLO. A round of SC working into the unused loops of the 10th round (just like the fore legs).
Body (in Heliotrope):
Normally I would have worked the Muzzle next to get all the “small pieces” finished, and that was even my plan, but I proceeded from the “leg break” directly to the body. In order to work the Muzzle, I’d have to break the yarn. Not worth it. AND things just work out sometimes. I might be a little light on the Heliotrope color, and the easiest sub to another color (Le Pink) would be the Muzzle. Not much else to say, still Plushy Bear pattern, still doubled. A LOT of stitches in this section.
Muzzle (in Heliotrope):
6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54, 60, 60, 60, 60, 60, 60, 60, 60, 60, 60, 60, then 3 slip stitches to smooth round
Mane (in Sex Violets):
Decided the turquoise wasn’t a close enough color match AND it’ll be easier hair with only 1 color to mess with. 2x 6in strips with 20 (30) slip stitch long “hairs” coming off. Sewn behind the horn and straight back, longer hair piece sewn on 2nd and to the right.
Tail (in Sex Violets):
Just one strip, made the same way as the mane, first 8 “hairs” 30 SLST long, last 8, 33 stitches long. Rolled into a cylinder threading yarn tail through the entire base several times, before sewing to unicorn bum, two rounds for extra security.
