Went for a day out in Leeds and my friend, Ludmila, bought the wool then conned me into knitting her a hat before she returns to Brasil.
Big wool, though, innit, so it was finished in a couple of hours and it actually looks ace. I really love the colour!
It seemed a little bit snug when it came off the needles but after blocking it was much better. Definitely grew in length.
I had to knit an extra repeat of the 6-row pattern as the original number was nowhere near enough to cover her ears - though I did knit the body on 9 instead of 10mm because I usually knit more loosely than most.
It’s still a great FREE pattern and I love the cable detail. It’s really easy to get it memorised, too. Plus, she loves it, so that’s all that matters. I added a cute pompom for a bit of something special. Hella cute!
