Notes

I’m on a mission to try something out, and after finding a bag of misc Elba unexpectedly in my stash, plus having had the Hiking Henley in my favorites for a couple of years now, AND Berroco doing the Summer “Tee” Party MAL …

Yes, another WIP …

Since I don’t have enough of one color to do the original solid approach, I will use one color for the hems, and also added some stripes. That’s at least the current plan, and I’ll keep a close eye on the yarn chicken to see if I have to go farther than that.

I also made the largest size to accommodate the yarn that I have without making it a harlequin Henley, so 42” it is … and hopefully fit.

A very enjoyable no-think knit, great companion to my Huachuca project, which currently requires that I actually look at what I’m knitting.

Planning the Stripes

All borders/hems in 7750 Red Hermit.

Two stripes in 7770 Black Sea Urchin on the Front/Back, 10 rows wide each, separated by 4 rows of MC. Started the first stripe after 95 rows total height, so that one stripe is completed right before the armhole shaping starts.

The “chicken battle” continues … I’m under-arm on the Front, and I have less than 2 balls of the main color left.

Not sure if this is enough to finish the Front and make the sleeves, so I’m going to knit the sleeves first to find out how much is left afterwards.

Backup solution is to use another stray color from my bag that will blend in with the MC, to finish the Front.

The chicken lost.

My Henley is knitted, sewn, and blocked, but the buttons are still missing.

Pattern is a keeper.

Yarn: I started with 10 balls in my stash, and now I have 30 left (how did that happen?!?!?)

Buttons are on, and now I can really call it done!

Love it … will make another one next year!
