Notes

This is the wash/dish cloth that I made during the TURTLE Loom™ instructional video that you can find on Youtube …

… as an example for joining hexagons when the fabric direction doesn’t matter. It’s a good beginner project. Of course you can properly lineup the hexagons, if you wish!

The instructions are simple:
Weave 6 hexagons for the petals.
Weave 1 hexagon in another color for the center.
Sew the hexagons together in any manner you wish to make a flower.

The other day I walked into a Hobby Lobby store, and … I was instantly surrounded by red-white-and-blue everywhere. Of course! It’s time to get ready for Memorial Day … the beginning of summer … and then the 4th of July! I decided that this is a good time to start making “the red-white-and-blues”. No better start than making a patriotic dish cloth, I decided.

The yarns are Lily Sugar’n Cream in white and red, and because I didn’t like the blue, I replaced it with a scrubby yarn for special effect. I used the locker hook for the scrubby yarn, everything else is done as described previously.
