Notes

So I started this for the Tour de Fleece 2018. Got half way though the first half in EIGHT DAYS! Think I must have been spinning it spiderweb thin.

Didn’t touch it for an entire year! Wow… But wanted to finish it this year - 2019!

Tour de Fleece 2018 Day 16-23 -- July 22nd to 29th

Didn’t seem to make a lot of notes! Spun the first half of the singles in 2018. Think I may have planned a fractal spin. May have split in half & then the other half into 1/3rds. But honestly, not certain! Going by pics & my typical spinning habits.

Tour de Fleece 2019 Day 1 - 7-6-2019

Got about 2/3rds of the fiber spun. Going well. Took lots of breaks as it has been too long since I have done spinning!

Not sure if I am spinning it thin enough given how long it was taking last year! But we will see when I ply it.

Decided my viewing theme for this year’s TdF is Musicals!

Watched (in order):
Walking on Sunshine
Mama Mia
Hunky Dory (started)

Both Walking on Sunshine & Hunky Dory are new to me. Liked Walking on Sunshine more than anticipated. Loads of fun with lots of bouncy 80s music.

Only watched part of Hunky Dory. Liking it but kinda slow paced & not as much music as I hoped. Want to finish it. But didn’t last night as I am trying to be smart about taking breaks as it has been so long since I spun.

Tour de Fleece 2019 Day 2 - 2nd Singles Done!

Got to spend a good chunk of the day spinning. So I completed the singles. Hooray!

Musicals Front:
Moulin Rouge
Little Shop of Horrors (part)

Tour de Fleece 2019 Day 3 - Started Plying

Started plying. Probably should have let it rest more. But…. Not that patient. And want my Akerwork bobbins for the next project!

Musicals:
Little Shop of Horrors (finished)
Busical episode from Buffy the Vampire Slayer

I have to give a huge shout out to Akerworks!! LOVE the bulky bobbin I got.

I had serious issues with the bulky Woolee Winder flyer with my Ladybug. The wood bobbins combined with the weight of the WW flyer made it way too heavy & took too much force to treadle.

I had been thinking I would sell the WW bulky flyer. But since the Akerworks bobbin is much lighter, it spins wonderfully. Hooray!

Tour de Fleece 2019 Day 4-6 - More Plying

I was commuting these days. So not as much time to spin. But I spun every day so I will take it!

Days 4-6 were commuting days with limited spinning time, didn’t get in more musicals.

On day 6, I ran out of singles on the bobbin I spun last year. So I had to breaking the second singles at a good color transition & plying it together. On the one hand, that means I am getting close. On the other, the bobbins are very uneven in length. A lot more on the bobbin I spun this year.

Tour de Fleece 2019 Day 7 - DONE PLYING!

All done! Woohoo! Needs its bath & to see what we get for yardage.

I was working from home. Work has been busy. But not spending 3 1/2 to 4 hours on the bus helps a lot with spinning time.

DH had a meeting for the Lake Association. So I took it as an opportunity to watch a couple episodes of Stranger Things. The red/pink and Stranger Things is an interesting combo. laugh

Odd note to end it on. And bet there is some tighter spinning with the tension! laugh
