Notes

Mods:

  • Sized down needles to size 2 to account for my loose(ish) tension and because I don’t want these to look sloppy.
  • Cast on 50 stitches, per pattern (not a mod, naturally, just indicating it here for future reference)
  • Knit cuff an extra 1/2” (for a 3 1/2” cuff total) before beginning gusset
  • Frogged back part of the palm, since the written length (2” beyond separating for the thumb) was too long for my hands (and my mom’s hands). Knit to 1” past separating for the thumb before beginning the final inch of 1x1 ribbing.
  • Thumb: knitting extra two rows in stockinette before beginning the ribbing

I actually don’t mind the unilateral curling to the cuff (due to the stockinette fabric’s nature) so I knit that cuff per pattern.

Overall thoughts:

  • Great pattern--interesting construction. I love that the 1x1 ribbing produces a snug fit and adds to a minimal design element
  • These used very little yarn, would be a good stash project
  • This yarn is the best
  • I love how these turned out--hope my mom likes them! :)
