Having spent many summer nights bundled up in front of a campfire longing for the perfect woolly companion, I decided to create the biggest, most luxurious wool wrap of my dreams - part shawl, part blanket. Not only does the Campfire Cozy provide warmth on a cool summer / fall evening at the campsite, it gives an extra layer of insulation or makes for a squishy pillow in your sleeping bag once you head in for the night.

Not a camper, you say? There are so many ways this extra large shawl will provide you with comfort and pleasure, just like a good old fashioned security blanket you might have had as a child. Knit from the top down with Magpie Fibers Nest Worsted, this wonderful accessory will be a staple for all those moments you crave a little coziness in your life.

NOTE: For the background lace pattern, here’s a step-by-step of the “yo, sl1, k1, yo, psso the knit st and the following yo” sequence:

Step 1. Do a yarn over
Step 2. Slip 1 stitch
Step 3. Knit 1 stitch
Step 4. Do another yarn over,
Step 5. Now grab the slipped stitch from step 2, and pull it over the knit stitch from step 3 and the yarn over from step 4.
