This is my attempt in making a tam that’s close to the one Go Mi Nam wears in episode 15 of the KDrama You’re Beautiful. Started using the pattern Brioche Beret with Picot Brim but ended up changing a lot of it to obtain the desired look, so I started writing my own pattern.

1/8 - To date I have frogged 3 times. The hat that I’m trying to recreate has a ribbed brim. Putting in the increases screwed the look up and the pattern reads a little funny for me. Finally found a way to do the brim that I can live with but then when I got to the decreases, I did it per the pattern and disliked it. Will start over and continue the ribbing to the top.

1/11 - Hat is coming along okay. I think I’m gonna have to try it again when I’m done as I don’t think the top is floppy enough for me. It’ll probably be right for my daughter though. I have to say that this stitch tripped me up a little. I had to really research how to do the special decreases to make it look right when continuing the ribbing.

1/11 Update - Finished the hat but it needs to be bigger. Has the general feel of the hat, but looks different. Cast on another one tonight.
