Is anyone else excited about a new LYS in the Edmonton area?! I love having more options when seeking out glorious new yarns!

Yarn Divas Tea & Fibre Emporium yarndivas is a delightful new yarn shop located in St. Albert that just opened up in April of this year. The owners, Chrissy and Sherri, reached out to a local dyer and a couple of us local designers to collaborate on some patterns for their grand opening and I had the honor and privilege of being invited on the journey.

Robin, of Rose Hill Yarn, put her talents into coming up with some fabulous colorways in the Yarn Divas colors. Seriously, I don’t know how she did it but she knocked it right out of the park!

Anna, of TheBluebirdBox, was the other designer invited to collaborate on a design for the grand opening, and I’m always in awe of Anna’s amazing colorwork skills, so I wanted to add a little Anna inspiration into this sock pattern - so you’ll find colorwork bands at the toe, cuff, & as you go to put the peasant heel in.

Lastly, I need a dash of me in there! Like many of you, cabled socks are my jam, so I added a cute little cable motif that played splendidly with Robin’s beautiful variegated yarn.

Once all the ingredients were together, Divalicious came to be, all in time for their grand opening.

Worked in the round, Divalicious contains both cuff-down and toe-up written directions and a chart for the pattern stitch. The pattern has instructions for a peasant heel (afterthought heel using scrap yarn).

The pattern is written for the magic loop method for knitting socks; however, the design could be worked on double-pointed needles or mini-circulars instead should you prefer (ensure you denote your instep stitches with extra markers – so you don’t miss the placement of the heel or toe shaping).
