This design has two never-ending loops intertwined and I’ve added the inner minimalist heart loops for February’s love theme.

There’s also a BONUS Mini-Square (using the center hearts)! Mini-square is available in the interlocking crochet file and the center-out overlay mosaic crochet file only. Follow along with the mosaic version on YouTube: https://youtu.be/NunsCkH1Dr8

Read more about my year of monthly Celtic knot squares at https://ashleeslint.com/2022/12/04/2023-a-year-of-celtic-knots/ and see the foundation / corners support video: https://youtu.be/0wynnBpYH3k

For this series of Celtic knot squares, the interlocking crochet technique uses a chart size of 81 x 81; the mesh dots and extra border lines have been removed for the mosaic version so that chart size is 77 x 77. The interlocking crochet version is done from the bottom-up and there are two overlay mosaic crochet options; one is done from the center-out and the other from the bottom-up.

You will receive:

  • One file for the interlocking crochet technique: full written pattern and one-page chart (81 x 81)
  • One file for the center-out overlay mosaic crochet technique: full written pattern and 1/4 square x-marked chart (77 x 77)
  • One file for the bottom-up overlay mosaic crochet technique: full written pattern, single-page and multi-page x-marked charts (77 x 77)

The Locked Filet Mesh (LFM) interlocking crochet method uses only chain spaces and double crochets to create a mesh; two colors are worked alternately which creates the pattern. YouTube Tutorials

Mosaic crochet uses single crochet and double crochet stitches. The double crochet stitches cover some of the other color’s single crochet stitches to create the design. When you work in the round you carry your yarn up the corner so there’s no need to cut it at the end of each round.
